EUCLID’s online MBA in Sustainable Development has been ranked in the world's top 25 since 2016 a good reason: it is offered by an international intergovernmental organization with a university mandate and specialized expertise in sustainable development. Historically, EUCLID grew out of the cooperation between universities and the International Organization for Sustainable Development (IOSD) which was the original SD international organization and which is now a EUCLID affiliated institute.

It is therefore the only master’s degree program in diplomacy organized by an international intergovernmental organization and officially used by senior civil servants over 4 continents. It is also highly relevant to managers and executives working for multinational companies.

EUCLID’s MBA/SD offers a strong MBA core capped with high-level courses covering economic development, sustainability, ecological economics, etc. Graduates can expect to complete the program transformed and enhanced in their ability to make a difference in global sustainability.

Academic Presentation

This MBA program begins with providing a best-of-class MBA core which will equip the students with practical yet academically sound knowledge in economics and management.

The MBA curriculum goes on to provide a progression of courses covering ecological economics (with case studies), sustainable economic studies, and economics development (including the authoritative Todaro textbook).

This EUCLID MBA focuses on applicable professional knowledge and skills rather than the advancement of academic knowledge for its own sake. Also, sustainable economic development is considered from a Global South angle as well as from major Western/OECD sources.

This is a program that is also used by civil servants working for EUCLID Participating States and can be considered an excellent route to pursue a career within governmental bodies, NGOs, global corporations and international organizations.

Within certain parameters, the curriculum is customizable, with elective courses focusing on:

  • Sustainable Development Goals
  • Sustainable Development in Africa
  • Small islands issues
  • Culture and Development
  • Islamic Economics and Finance.

Applicants should have a relevant Bachelor’s degree issued by an institution listed in the UNESCO-IAU handbook/database or otherwise duly recognized/accredited. Similar or related backgrounds with adequate professional experience may be considered for Government-sponsored applicants (who are already government staff) who may be admitted without the required educational credential if their level of education and experience is deemed sufficient. EUCLID may require these participants to complete bridge courses prior to enrolling in the program. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required and will be tested. Students are expected to be in a position to dedicate 10 to 15 effective hours of study on a weekly basis.
